The Legend of Harsil

As per local lore, the name “Harsil” stems from an ancient feud between the Bhagirathi and Jalandhari rivers. Lord Vishnu, as Hari-shila (stone), pacified their turbulence, uniting the waters into harmony. This spiritual connection adds to Harsil’s mystique.

A gateway to the pristine Himalayan wilderness, Harsil promises serenity, spirituality, and natural splendor.

Tour Plan

Departure from Delhi

  • Assemble at Preet Vihar Metro Station at 10 PM.
  • Meet the trip captain and the group.
  • Begin the overnight journey from Delhi to Harsil.

Arrival at Uttarkashi and Harsil Valley

  • Reach Uttarkashi in the morning; freshen up and enjoy breakfast.
  • Continue the journey to Harsil Valley with a stop at the scenic Khedi Waterfall.
  • Arrive at Harsil in the evening and check in to a hotel/homestay.
  • Explore the quaint Harsil Village if time permits.
  • Enjoy a cozy bonfire session, followed by dinner.
  • Overnight stay at Harsil.

Gartang Gali, Gangotri & Surya Kund

  • Start the day with an early breakfast.
  • Drive to Lanka Bridge and begin the 2.5 km trek to Gartang Gali, an adventurous skywalk offering stunning views.
  • Visit Gangotri Temple, a sacred spot dedicated to Goddess Ganga.
  • Trek to Surya Kund, a mesmerizing cascade near Gangotri.
  • Return to Harsil in the evening for dinner and rest.

Lama Top and Bagori Village

  • Begin the morning with breakfast.
  • Trek 2.5 km to Lama Top, known for panoramic views of Harsil Valley and the Himalayas.
